Welcome to the
website of the Whitehorse Arts Association, the site created for
the friends of the visual arts. Our site includes a members gallery of
their original artwork, along with information about our art classes and
related activities.
Formerly known as Mitcham Arts Association, and established in 1965,
Whitehorse Arts
Association is a non-profit
organization set up to promote understanding and enjoyment of the fine
arts and to encourage participation in such activities.
Mainly
drawing its members and students from the area of Whitehorse, its
membership and classes are open to any who are interested in participating
in the activities of the association.
The
name was changed in February 2002, following a majority vote of members at
the AGM in 2001, to better reflect the wide range of locations from which
members came.
We
offer a wide range of classes in the fine arts and pottery, with expert
tutors, at reasonable fees to all who are interested, either as students
or as members.
We
additionally offer a wide range of benefits for our financial members
including a monthly newsletter, demonstrations and workshops, paintouts,
art shows and exhibitions, a library of art related materials, a well
equipped pottery studio, and social activities.
We
are located
18km east of the Melbourne CBD
at the Arts Wing, Nunawading Community Centre, Silver Grove,
Nunawading, Victoria, Australia 3131.
We can be contacted by mail at the above address, or
