Whitehorse Arts Impressionist Challenge

Saturday 15 July 2006

At the Clubrooms, Silver Grove, Nunawading, Victoria, Australia.

The WAA Impressionist Challenge attracted 65 entries from members and affiliates. There were at least 80 people present to enjoy an exhibition the first Impressionists would surely have loved. Artists submitted works in either of two styles - French Impressionism (after Monet, Sisly, Pissaro), or Australian Impressionism (after Roberts, McCubbin, Streeton), and all were successful in capturing the dazzle of light and atmosphere in their paintings.
